Celebrating the life of Ime Patsy Isama Nee Iwe

Her kindness, strength, and love will never be forgotten.

Lessons from Mama's Love

I fondly recall those Christmas holidays in Enugu, filled with Grandma's self-improvement activities. From handwriting practice to essay assignments, and even tackling our school homework, she kept us busy. As a child in primary school, it seemed endless and a bit pointless, but that was Grandma.

My mother shared stories of how she and her siblings would send letters home from school, only to have them returned corrected, with a response from Mama. She was always forward-thinking, constantly seeking ways to nurture our growth at every level, guiding us in the right direction.

The patience and discipline I've gained from my time with Grandma are invaluable, and I'm eternally grateful for the opportunity to have been her grandchild. Though her loss leaves a painful void, I'm thankful for the chance to have loved Mama and for the blessing of being loved by her.

Knowing Mama wouldn't want us to dwell in regret or sadness, I pray that God consoles us during this time of grief. May we see this as a celebration of the incredibly full life she lived, and may we continue to live our own lives in a way that reflects her love for us.  -- Ifechi Ude
